Creative Concepts

Fall 2018

What’s this course about?

It’s never been harder to get your work noticed. Why? Because there are a couple of huge bouncers outside our brains—standing guard, deciding who gets in and who gets left out.

So, whether you’re a beginner or have been doing this for a few years, in this class, we’ll focus on how to come up with strong creative concepts that stand out for the right reasons.

What will you learn?

We’ll work in many mediums, but the focus of this class will be on the power of the ideas themselves, and how to put words and pictures together in a way that not only gets noticed, but which communicates effectively and delivers on a sound strategic platform.

Each week, you’ll tackle a new assignment and you’ll be expected to have your work critiqued by me and your classmates. Some of the community’s biggest talent will also be dropping by regularly to share their knowledge, critiques and a few laughs.

Who will be teaching the course?

Jonathan Plazonja

Boston, MA

Jonathan runs a Boston-based creative collaborative called Courage. Before that, he did time at Connelly Partners, Modernista!, Hill/Holliday and other tops shops. He’s worked on Four Seasons, Emirates Airline, Product(RED), John Hancock and other leading brands. His work has been recognized by most of the industry’s top awards shows, including Boston’s own Hatch Awards, where he singlehandedly won Best of Show at just 24.
